[civsa] Surveys: Electronic vs. Paper

Same experience at UT Dallas. We still send them a thank you email for coming and it has an electronic survey attached to it, but we rarely get responses from that. Our paper evaluations work best immediately following the event, especially if we provide them with a ‘thank you’ gift for returning the evaluation.

Trent,

We have tried to collect surveys both ways.  We found that we get the best response when we have them turn a paper survey in at the end of their visit to get a t-shirt.

Quick question for you all. At Texas Wesleyan after our events we give out a paper survey and they fill it out in order to receive their shirt before they leave. This is an effective model for us but also somewhat time consuming and can cause congestion while everyone is leaving. Do any of you give out surveys electronically while they are at the event then give them their “going away” item? We are bouncing the idea back and forth about electronic surveys vs paper ones.
