Gina,
Below is the dress code for our daily student workers. We do not use a uniform for them because we want them to look like they are students, but still put together.
Capital University Admission Office
Student Dress Code
Men:
Button shirt, polo, sweater, or Capital T-shirt
Dress pants or clean, loose-fitting jeans or shorts.
No warm-up pants, gym shorts, grungy or dirty clothes, pajamas/lounge clothes
Do not wear low-riding pants or show any undergarments
Women:
Tasteful shirts or blouses
Dress pants, capris, skirts, dresses, or clean, loose-fitting jeans or shorts
No strappy tank-tops, warm-up pants, short shorts, minis, or pajamas/lounge clothes
Clothing should be modest, not skimpy or over-revealing, and must adequately cover back, midriff, cleavage, and undergarments.
Sleeveless tops should have sufficient material to conceal undergarments -no straps showing please!
Leggings, yoga pants and other form fitting clothing are only to be worn under shorts or skirts that meet dress code length requirements (fingertips)
Notes for Everyone:
Ambassador shirts and sweaters will be provided for group events.
No hats or flip flops
No holes in clothing
ABSOLUTELY NO CLOTHING ADVERTISING OTHER SCHOOLS!!!
Tops and bottoms must overlap at all times - including when arms are raised, filing or climbing a ladder to get a T-Shirt.
Shorts (and skirts) should not be too short and must pass the "fingertip" test. Think about how many stairs you have to walk up while leading a tour group around campus. Remember - Visitors are here to "see" what assets Capital has to offer. While our students are one of our greatest assets . . . I think you get the point here!
Please take pride in the way you present yourself and Capital University. Come to work looking your best, as you would for giving a presentation in class or going to dinner with your grandparents. First impressions count and sloppiness is not acceptable. Work attire should be clean and free from inappropriate messages (no references to alcohol, tobacco, drugs, or other offensive images). Good hygiene is as important as what you wear. Please shower (use soap and shampoo) daily, apply deodorant and dress appropriately.
Also, all of our professional staff needs to be in business casual attire Monday through Friday. We only have certain days deemed as "Jeans days" where we pay to wear jeans and it's donated to a philanthropy for a University cause.

Hello all:
I am emailing today with a question about dress code for both professional staff as well as student staff in your Visitor Centers...
At UCSB, the Visitor Center is part of the Office of Admissions but we are physically separate from the non-public departmental offices where many of our daily staff presenters have their work spaces. This being the case, a counselor may dress differently on a day when s/he is scheduled to present than on a day when s/he is not. As you might imagine, this poses a problem when we need to add or replace a presenter due to illness or other scheduling issue because not all available staff are dressed appropriately.
As such, I have two questions:
1) What is appropriate dress for staff in your public centers?
2) Is it the same for all staff in your department?
And things brings up my final question:
What about student staff? Is it different than professional staff? If so, how so?
Any insight you can provide into the policies at your schools would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Have a wonderful week!

Here is the dress code for our office which includes the behind the scenes workers as well as the public facing workers.
I hope this helps.
