Siobhan,



The student is present for the entirety of the 30 minute information
session but the counselor only calls on the student at specific times.  We
use a Prezi to make sure that counselor and student are both hitting all of
the points that we want messaged to the group.  Students typically will
stay after the session and chat with parents and students and answer
questions as well.  I don’t usually schedule a student to be in the info
session unless we have more than three families.  We tried adding a student
to every session but the dynamic was really strange when we just had one or
two families in an information session as well as a counselor and student.

Hi Siobhan,



Here at Sewanee, we run our campus tour first followed by a group
information session.  Our info session is run by a counselor but we do
partner a current senior with the counselor so that they can speak from a
student perspective on academics, study-away experiences and experiences
with our Career & Leadership Development office.
