Same here at Penn. We have a reception area for prospective applicants and their families and we run all of the info sessions and tours as well as the yield program.

We would LOVE to have a Visitor Center! However, we don't...so all our campus visitors and prospective students come through our Admission office.

Subject: [civsa] Visitor Centers reporting structure
Hello everyone,
I recently inherited responsibilities for the Visitor Center at the University of Washington. The Visitor Center at the UW is separate from the Admissions Department. Judging from the email signatures on the questions and answers I see on the listserv emails, it appears that most if not all of you are affiliated with the Admissions department. Are all of the Visitor Centers across the country part of the Admissions Department or is anyone out there have a different reporting structure?
If there is someone with a different reporting structure, I would appreciate a phone conversation to hear about your Visitor Center, what you do that is different from what your Admissions department does in terms of visitors to campus, prospective students etc. and how you compliment what each other is doing.
Thank you!
Best,
Mary Jean Stephens
