[civsa] Mission Statement

The Undergraduate Admission staff moved into Valparaiso University's
Duesenberg Welcome Center last June. We're still "figuring it out" as we
encounter new situations. Below is the mission statement we were given when
the building was under construction, however we will revisit this after we
have a year of experiences behind us.

*Mission Goals:*

The Duesenberg Welcome Center will foster the creation and enhancement of
programs and activities to transform the student experience and to
facilitate the engagement and development of the regional community.


*Vision:*


   - ·        Provide a complete university experience
   - ·        The place that encourages social interaction, community
   engagement, and enhances the academic tradition
   - ·        Create a setting to deliver university resources to the
   community and serve as a catalyst for regional economic development
   - ·        Create a sustainable "Signature" building which celebrates,
   defines and transforms the university campus
   - ·        Embrace and enhance the natural campus environment
