Hi All!
At the University of North Florida, we do NOT offer our regular guided tours, nor do we offer the large group tours. We do offer the self-guided option. Our staff is too small and that week (and the first week of classes for Fall and Spring) are too crazy for me to have to worry about whether I have a tour guide or not! We do offer tours on the first week of summer since the intercession is so short. It really does relieve some stress for everyone if you can only offer the self-guided tour option during finals week!
Happy Spring y'all!

Tami -
UF still has tours, but we don't book any group tours and reduce the number offered. So one per day instead of two per day (with the exception of Friday which still has 2). We don't host any tours on commencement Friday as campus is just too crazy.
Hope this helps!

Subject: [civsa] Tours during Finals week?
Hi everyone,
Greetings from sunny and warm Florida! Traditionally we have not given tours during the first week of classes each semester because of the unusual "craziness" on campus that week. Florida Gulf Coast University is considering not giving tours during finals week. Can you let me know if you do give tours during finals week and, if you do, is it a decreased tour schedule (ie - do you offer fewer tours each day, etc.).
Thanks all!

At the University of Alberta, we do continue to offer tours through exams.
Feedback from Ambassadors is that they enjoy the break from their studies, although we do note a smaller number of folks accepting the opportunities in our volunteer based program.
Best,
Jessica

Oregon State University offers tours during dead and finals weeks. Appointments with academic advisers/offices are somewhat restricted during those times.

Hi Tami,
At Georgia Tech it is part of our volunteer contract to tour through finals week. We do offer students the option to switch up their tour times if they conflict with an exam. We then offer information sessions only during our break between semesters and a limited tour schedule the first week of classes.
Merideth
