Greetings from Columbus! I hope everyone is having a good fall semester!

At Ohio State, we do a combo of an admissions overview (45 min) and walking campus tour (90 min). We get roughly 38,000 visitors a year for our visits and events. Our visit space can hold up to 150 for a session. We are strategic with how many sessions we offer and when we offer. For example in the busy months of April, July, and October, we will do two (or sometimes three) sessions a day Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri. We traditionally hold Wed and Thurs for group tours.

In the slow months of September or January, we'll offer maybe one session on Monday and Friday per week and that's it. We use our history of attendance data to drive when we offer sessions and how often. It definitely helps us with budget to not have our student employees be scheduled for tours and then have to cut them because less people show up.

As for the tours, we try to cap at a 15:1 ratio. We're trying to overcome that "too big" stigma.

We don't place a cap because the load has been manageable, however during the month of April we reserve a larger space for the info sessions and also separate admitted student tours from prospective student tours (we try to keep the admitted tours as personalized and small as possible).

At Bryn Mawr College we offer an information session followed by a campus tour twice daily (morning and afternoon). HS seniors can also interview, visit a class and/or stay overnight while they're on campus.

Hi CIVSA Friends!

We are in the process of revamping our daily tours and I just wanted to get an idea from you all how many tours you do in a day, how many people per tour, are these driving & walking tours or just driving/walking, do you combine your tour with an Admissions info session and if so, what does that look like, etc...? Really, just a general idea of what you offer visitors looking to visit your campus.
