[civsa] Visit Request Deadline

Good afternoon, Tedgie and all!
Valpo requests a 2-week advance notice of an individual (prospective
student) visit when special appointments are requested (sit in on class,
meet with professor); we group 2 or 3 families together in rare cases. We
take last minute requests, even walk-ins -- but share that we are most
likely limited to providing a tour and info session with an admission
counselor (we'll try to schedule other appointments if it's not really busy
in the Welcome Center). We have four times of the day when they can start
their visit. Group tours (e.g. high school groups, church youth groups)
are limited in size (50) and must have a 3-week advance scheduling.
We've worked hard to tweak our website to help visitors understand our
available visit opportunities, and we constantly review and tweak as
needed. For instance, since we moved into the Duesenberg Welcome Center a
month ago, we're talking through how to handle tours for alumni ("purely
alumni" tours are very different from a prospective student tour!) and
tours for tourists/community members (will most likely add them to the
prospective student tour).
Right now we're discussing how to use our recently purchased 8-passenger
Club Car. Anyone else have one? If so, do you advertise it or just wait for
those unique times when a family may need special assistance on a campus
tour?

B.) Accommodate visiting students with an individual appointment with
academic department representatives?
